- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆The geographic location is lovely. Camped here for 3 days at the State Park Campground, which is too crowded for my liking. The tent-only sites are very close to each other so neighbor activity is audible. Not a quiet retreat in the woods. Facilities are adequate & relatively well-kept.By G Choulli, September 24, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Beach review: I only visited the beach, as its the closest to me without the insane Ocean City crowds. It is indeed quieter. We arrived right before 10 am and it was getting busy, but not yet too crowded. The earlier the better. $10 CASH ONLY entrance fee - be prepared! I think it would be a nice day trip if you wanted to hike some trails, visit the nature center, and spend some time on the beach. As a beach vacation, it's not anything special. The worse part was the stones and pebbles along the shoreline. It was very painful to walk on into the water, and the waves actually throw rocks against your legs (see photo). I got a cut from the surf just going in knee-deep! There are also no fun seashells for beachcombing. So you can lay on the beach and build a castle, but that's about it. If that's your thing, go for it! Overall, quite clean. Umbrella rental is $15/day. The parking lot is very conveniently located just behind the bathhouse, just behind the beach, so access is easy.By J. D., August 03, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The park has a beach with shallow water which is perfect for kids. Kids can see fish, snails and other interesting creatures there. You can rent a bike there (no cost) and explore trails, see old fort, climb towers, fish, drive on the beach. When we were there (26 June) the water was too cold to swim. Also, unfortunately the most interesting part of the park (sandspit) is closed because of bird sanctuary. Overall, it was a great experience. We had a wonderful day at the park.
